You've got 14 days from delivery to send a kit back, no questions asked — provided it's unopened and in the condition it arrived in.

The policy

  • Window: 14 days from the day your order arrives.
  • Condition: unopened, unbuilt, in the original packaging — every brick still in the bag.
  • Return shipping: covered by you. We don't supply prepaid labels.
  • Refund timing: processed within 7 business days of us receiving the package, back to your original payment method (Stripe typically settles within 7–10 days after that).

How to start a return

US orders: we can't currently process returns or exchanges for orders shipped to the United States. Please check carefully before ordering.

The process is intentionally low-tech. Three steps:

  1. Email mail@thebrickapple.com with your order number (it's on your confirmation email, format #1042), the items you want to return, and whether you'd like a refund, store credit, or an exchange.
  2. We'll reply with the return address and a return reference number, usually within one business day.
  3. Ship the package back with a tracked service of your choice. Drop the tracking number in a reply so we know it's on the way.

Refund, store credit, or exchange

Back to the card or wallet you paid with. We can't refund to a different method.

Store credit

We can issue 1:1 store credit. Credit is applied to your account and never expires.

Exchange

For a different kit, a different size, or a print swap — tell us what you'd like instead. Please note that the shipping costs for the exchange are not covered by us.

What we can't take back

  • Anything opened or partially built — once a brick bag is open we can't resell the kit.
  • Custom or made-to-order pieces — anything we built specifically for you (e.g. a one-off block, a named print) is final sale.
  • Items returned after the 14-day window.
  • Items damaged after delivery (but if something arrives broken, tell us immediately — we'll sort it out).

EU statutory rights

If you're shopping from the EU, you have a statutory right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU: 14 days from receipt to cancel your order for any reason. The terms above match or exceed that right. To exercise it formally, send us an unambiguous statement (an email is fine) within the 14-day window. Nothing here limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
